Andrew Yahner is not running for office – but you wouldn’t know it by looking at his yard.
Yahner has created several yard signs regarding himself and his wife that have brought a little levity to the local political cycle. One sign reads “Andrew Yahner – not running for anything, I just wanted a sign.” Subsequent signs read: “Look…I got a second one!” and “My wife is getting mad I’m spending money on these signs.”
Yahner said he purchased his signs from the Jamestown Rubber Stamp Company after being inspired by other online spoof political signs.
“Someone else did it a couple of years ago on the internet,” he said. “I said ‘Well, it’s election season – it’s my time now.'”
Yahner urges the public not to write his name in for any elected positions as they vote – he merely wanted to amuse the community with his “campaign.” He said he’s not really “poking fun” at the election cycle itself – he just found the signs comical.

“I’m just having fun,” he said.
Yahner said the comic campaign has had success, with various people taking photos of the display. Some have even commented to his wife that they’d like their own signs. This is the first year he’s displayed the signs, but they’ve been met with a favorable response.
While the signs were created as a joke, Yahner said one of them has some truth to it.
“Once I brought the last two home, she told me I’m not allowed to have adult money anymore,” he said with a chuckle.
Lucian DiNapoli, a salesperson with JRSC Digital, said the business prints a number of elections signs each year – but not many like what Yahner has displayed in his yard. JRSC Digital was formerly known as the Jamestown Rubber Stamp Company.
“It’s somewhat random,” DiNapoli said. “We thought it was funny. I saw people on Facebook posts who said ‘…I’ll vote for him.”
