The Chicago Bears have cleared the way for Justin Fields in 2022.

Nick Foles, the only potential challenger to Fields, was released by Chicago after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Chicago also has no quarterback on the roster who could challenge the young quarterback for his starting job.

As it stands, the Bears roster of quarterbacks are Fields, Trevor Siemian, and Nathan Peterman.

This now puts all the focus, and pressure, squarely on the second-year quarterback.

However, the pressure could affect him with a team lacking weapons at receiver.

NFL fans will tell people the quarterback is the most important position in football.

Anything that goes right or wrong on offense usually falls at their feet.

However, can the fans really put the burden on a second-year quarterback who doesn’t have at least one elite receiver?

They shouldn’t, but they most likely will because of high expectations with Fields.

The Bears only have one receiver who barely broke 1,000+ yards last season.

They didn’t sign any mega star receiver like an Odell Beckham Jr. or a Julio Jones.

However, they added Byron Pringle and Velus Jones Jr.

While Jones is a rookie, Pringle has some NFL experience.

But he doesn’t have a 1,000+ yard season under his belt.

Without a clear cut top receiver, the burden on Fields could be unnecessary.

The one veteran wide receiver in Chicago for years was Allen Robinson.

However, the team parted ways with him this year.

Now they have no veteran receiver to help Fields in 2022.

But, if Fields is the next elite quarterback that Chicago believes he is, then he should be fine.

However, even the best NFL quarterbacks have top receivers.

Without someone like Robinson, he could struggle in 2022.

But Chicago has players like David Moore and Jones, who are the future Robinson for Chicago.

They might not have his talent currently, but they are still young.

Fields’ 2022 roster of receivers is filled with young talent.

He also has a young tight end with Cole Kmet.

They also have two young running backs in Khalil Herbert and David Montgomery.

The youth on the Bears team makes them the youngest team in football before the season starts.

While that’s good for rebuilding, it isn’t good for turning the Bears into instant winners.

So fans need to keep that in mind before passing judgement on the young Bears team.

They no longer have veteran players like Khalil Mack, Foles, or Eddie Goldman.

Without veterans like them around, times in Chicago could be tough.

However, if these young players can click fast, they might impress people.

But we won’t know how the players will gel until the NFL preseason begins.

It will show Bears fans if these young players can man up or if they need more time before gelling together.

They have a good coaching staff and only need to put everything together during game day.
