UCO, which will celebrate 50 years of manufacturing camping equipment at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, announces a robust ECO camp kitchen line expansion. Using its proprietary Recover Recycled polypropylene, UCO’s ECO line gives reclaimed and recycled plastic a second life as durable, sustainable camp kitchenware.

Last year, the company introduced its ECO 5-Piece Mess Kit and ECO utensils made from post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste. For S/S23, it has built on the line’s success with new reusable and recyclable options.

The  ECO 4-PIece Mess Kit  offers a streamlined option for meals on the go. Made from certified food-grade 100 percent Recover Recycled polypropylene, the kit was designed to keep virgin plastic out of landfills and includes a bowl/container, lid/plate, ECO Utility Spork, and reusable tether. The leak-resistant lid consists of a silicone gasket for a tight seal with Get-A-Grip handles.

UCO is also offering two ECO versions of its Camp Cup, the  ECO Collapsible Camp Cup  and the  ECO Collapsible Camp Cup Large,  featuring a Recover Recycled polypropylene upper with a flexible TPE base that stows within the rigid rim and pops out as a functional cup—offered in 12oz or 18 oz. with included no-splash lid.

Both the ECO Collapsible Camp Cups include built-in volume measurements for camp cooking.

Finally, UCO introduces its  ECO 3-Piece Camp Utensil Set  to replace single-use plastic utensils. The full-size fork, spoon and knife are dishwasher safe and can be recycled. The set includes a reusable travel case made from 90 percent Recover Recycled polyester. ECO Camp Utensils will also be available individually for customers to build personal camp kits.

“We worked for years to develop our ECO material and were incredibly thoughtful about finding the best option,” said Craig Frazee, design engineer, UCO. “We looked at bioplastics and biodegradable plastics, but both of those still require virgin plastic production. Our Recover Recycled polypropylene is made from 100 percent recycled plastic, and it’s fully recyclable, so every product helps keep plastic waste out of landfills. We’re thrilled to expand our ECO line with durable new options that will last through a lifetime of adventures.”

UCO’s ECO camp kitchen products will be shown at Outdoor Retailer in the Industrial Revolution Booth #47025-UL.
